Light and Shadows
For the renovation of this splendid villa, our clients opted for dark colours with predominantly cool shades, for a result that is both powerful and refined. In this case, the study and design of the lighting played a decisive role. Inspired by the idea of creating an environment with a captivating atmosphere, characterised by alternating areas of shadow and light, we played with the chiaroscuro effect, modulating and calibrating the light sources on the surfaces. The result is an evocative interplay of solids and voids, shapes and volumes emphasised in a skilful play of light and shadow. As in an exhibition, the furnishings and spaces of your home can become protagonists in a dynamic spectacle in which lighting reigns supreme.
The Magic of Illumination
Light alone can be an important design element. This is why we believe that lighting design plays a fundamental role in creating a space: in this project, the play of light and shadow beautifully emphasises the surfaces, enhancing the textures of the different materials: microcement, metal and wood. At the same time, the lighting chosen gives the rooms a special, almost mysterious atmosphere, lending the home a distinctive and original contemporary style.
All the Nuances of Microcement
Microcement, while maintaining a marked industrial imprint, is nevertheless extremely versatile: it can give a sophisticated and refined look to any environment. It blends harmoniously with the different materials it is combined with and emphasises their characteristics: in our project, for example, the metal elements and the natural charm of wood are magically enhanced in a modern symphony of togetherness.
The mixture of shapes and colours contributes to the final effect. The industrial-style furnishings are dressed in grey, in various tones and shades that change depending on the light; industrial plates that imitate raw construction; rust stains that add a touch of fascinating decadence; navy blue for a note of great elegance and, finally, the wooden floor, which, with its warm and enveloping tones, softens the cold colours of the furnishings, giving a feeling of great intimacy and comfort to the environment.
