Bathroom and kitchen renovation in Genoa: colours, materials and initial design choices

The first phase of the bathroom and kitchen renovation project in Genoa featured a light, natural colour scheme: sand-coloured microcement. This choice of material evokes the earth and immediately lends delicacy, sobriety and balance to the rooms. The finish, which is uniform but slightly nuanced, amplifies the effect of continuity and brightness.

The use of the same colour on the floor and walls visually enlarges the spaces, making them more airy. In the kitchen, microcement also covers the splashback, illuminated by a long LED strip that provides perfect lighting for the sink and hob.

Simplicity and Elegance: the main bathroom

In the large bathroom, a plasterboard false ceiling was installed to improve the proportions between the spaces and integrate ceiling spotlights, providing discreet but effective lighting. The sink and cabinet were custom designed and entirely covered in microcement, maintaining total aesthetic consistency.

The atmosphere is relaxing and refined: the vertical beam of light in the shower falls like luminous rain on the wall, enhancing the integrated shelf. The door closures, trapdoors and flush-mounted drain have been crafted with attention to detail, almost disappearing from view.

Second phase: living room and hallway between texture and colour harmony

The second phase of the renovation extended the work to the living room and hallway, maintaining consistency with the materials and atmosphere defined in the bathroom and kitchen. All surfaces continue with warm beige microcement and a light texture, offering an elegant and contemporary visual continuum.

Wallpaper in autumnal shades of brown and orange introduces warmth and personality, while most of the furniture is finished in black, creating modern and refined contrasts. The TV cabinet and renovated bookcase feature a special finish that recalls the effect of slate, adding material depth.

Final atmosphere: continuity, functionality and identity

The combination of colours, textures and custom-made furnishings creates a modern, functional and minimalist environment, designed to meet the owners’ needs with elegance and consistency. The result of the bathroom and kitchen renovation in Genoa, completed with the living room and hallway, is a harmonious, welcoming home with attention to detail.
