Light alone can be an important design element. This is why we believe that lighting design plays a fundamental role in the creation of a space: in the project in question, the play of light and shadow beautifully emphasises the surfaces, enhancing the textures of the different materials: micro-concrete, metal and wood. At the same time, the chosen lighting is able to give the rooms a special, almost mysterious atmosphere, giving the house a distinct and original contemporary style.
For the renovation of this splendid villa, our clients opted for dark colours with predominantly cold nuances, for a result that is both strong and refined. In this case, the study and design of the lighting played a decisive role. Inspired by the idea of creating an environment with a captivating atmosphere, characterised by alternating areas of shadow and light, we played with the chiaroscuro effect, modulating and calibrating the light sources on the surfaces: the result is an evocative play of solids and voids, of shapes and volumes emphasised in a skilful play of light and shadow. As in an exhibition, the furnishings and spaces of your home can become protagonists in a dynamic show in which lighting plays the leading role.
Microcement, while maintaining a marked industrial character, is nevertheless extremely versatile: it is able to lend a sophisticated and refined look to any environment. It manages to harmonise with the different materials it is combined with and emphasise their characteristics: in this project of ours, for example, metal elements and the natural charm of wood are magically enhanced in a modern symphony of ensemble. The mixture of shapes and colours contributes to the final effect: furnishings with an industrial flavour are dressed in grey, in various tones and shades that change according to the light; industrial plates imitating the rough construction; rust stains that give a touch of fascinating decadence; navy blue for a note of great elegance and finally the wooden floor which, with its warm and enveloping tones, dilutes the cold tones of the furnishings, giving a feeling of great intimacy and comfort to the room.
